An electric surprise

Updated: Apr 23

The 20th of April 2026 was a very special day for a bunch of people in Lesotho: After the founding of the company in 2025, the development of the prototype Solar Barrow and its further improvement to a marketable product, the Qualiworx Engineering Team was thrilled to hand over the first Solar Barrow to the company's first customer on that day. For our young company this was a big milestone towards which we had been working hard and relentlessly over the last months. And on top of that: The sun was shining and there was no cloud in the sky - perfect weather conditions to hand over a mobile solar power station!

Our first customer is Ntate Pitso who bought The Solar Barrow for his grandmother. Mme Malebohang is 83 years old and lives in an unelectrified, remote area of Lesotho. As Ntate Pitso had planned The Solar Barrow to be a surprise for his grandmother, Mme Malebohang did not know that Qualiworx Engineering would be visiting her house.

Mme Malebohang was simply speechless and overjoyed!

Can you imagine what a life-changing effect The Solar Barrow has for Mme Malebohang?

The Solar Barrow lets her charge the phone and keep in touch with her family without taking a long walk to the next shop across the village that runs a petrol or diesel generator.

She can now keep up to date by listening to the news or enjoy entertainment and music with a radio.

Mme Malebohang's house became a lot safer as candles and paraffin are now replaced by electric lighting - even outdoors.

The Solar Barrow attracted the attention of Mme Malebohang's neighbours who came to have a look. The Qualiworx Engineering Team is convinced that her house will become the village's new hotspot where neighbours and friends will come to charge their phones, laptops or portable lamps.

Of course, the Qualiworx Engineering Team gave Mme Malebohang...

...an in-depth introduction into The Solar Barrow's features and on how to operate the system.

This first handover depicted everything The Solar Barrow stands for:

Mme Malebohang lives in an area which can only be reached with an offroad-capable car but there is no direct access to her house. This is where The Solar Barrow shines! Due to its mobility, it was no problem to push the solar system to her house.

The Qualiworx Engineering Team wishes Mme Malebohang much joy, satisfaction and comfort with The Solar Barrow!
